Wide representation of ENGSO at the #womeninleadership Forum in Vilnius
On 9-11 October the Advancing Women in Leadership Roles Forum for Europe was organised by the Lithuanian Olympic Committee and the International Olympic Committee in Vilnius, Lithuania.
ENGSO was well presented at the two-day event. On the first day ENGSO’s Equality Within Sport Committee Chair, Kristina Thurée was a panelist in the "Good governance: Everybody should get involved" panel. There she stressed the importance of the strategic approach, saying:
"Assess the current situation, set the goals where you want to get and identify the actions you need to do to get there. Step-by-step and monitoring the progress, you will get there."
On the second day ENGSO’s Vice-President, Agne Vanagiene moderated a panel entitled "Education: a tool to foster leadership", where Laura-Maria Tiidla, an ENGSO Youth young delegate was one of the panelists.
A resolution entitled „Vilnius Commitment to Change” was the outcome of the two-day discussion, and ENGSO Policy Director, Heidi Pekkola was a member of the document’s drafting committee. The resolution can be found here.
Heidi Pekkola believes that the Forum was a great event to discuss the current situation in #womeninleadership in sport and also to discover what needs to be done in the future to improve the situation:
