The preparation for EWoS 2018 has started

The preparation for the next European Week of Sport has started on a European level with the Key Players’ Seminar. The two-day event was held in Riga, Latvia on 22 and 23 May. It was co-organised by our member, the Latvian Sports Federation’s Council (LSFC) and the European Commission. Two of our Executive Committee members were present: Ilva Ciemite from LSFC and Natasa Jankovic from the Olympic Committee of Serbia.

The seminar contained group activities on key topics of the European Week of Sport, especially on the new feature of this year “#BeActive Night”, as well as detailed information on the communication campaign around EWoS 2018 and on social media tips and tricks to enable the participants to reach the widest range of citizens with the campaign. Parallel workshops were held on networking, the #BeActive Night and on brainstorming on ideas around being active on a daily basis.

Both of our Execituve Committee members found the event very useful and inspirational.

“We were pleased to welcome all the partners and national coordinating bodies of the European Week of Sport to Latvia! After the seminar, we are eager to fine tune our plans and shape the #BeActiveLatvia programme.” - said Ilva Ciemite.

“After getting to know more detailed information on EWOS, the Olympic Committee of Serbia is looking forward to contributing to the continental campaign and make Europeans more #BeActive!” – added Natasa Jankovic.

ENGSO is a long-standing partner of the European Week of Sport and is looking forward to contributing to the coming edition with promotional activities. ENGSO has been organising joint events together with the European Lotteries during the EWoS since 2016. This year we are co-organising an event on the topic of gender equality. Stay tuned for details!
