The NOC of Kosovo has unveiled the Olympic Rings to mark Olympic Day

On 23rd June, the Kosovan ENGSO member, the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Kosovo celebrated the Olympic Day through various activities.


The main activity was the unveiling of the Olympic Rings which is placed in front of the House of Sports in the capital city, Prishtina. Besim Hasani, the President of the NOC of Kosovo and Vlora Dumoshi, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, have took an active part in the ceremony and unveiled the Rings.


As another way of celebration, dozens of Olympic trees were planted, which shall bear the names of sports federations. A tree was planted for Kosovo's sole Olympic champion, judoka Majlinda Kelmendi.


 "The idea of having a tree with my name on it is a very well-thought idea, in particular on this special day," said Kelmendi, who won Olympic gold in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.
