The future is here at the European Lotteries Industry Days

From 4 to 6 June our partner, the European Lotteries organised its Industry Days and within it, its General Assembly. Our President, Carlos Cardoso participated in the event representing ENGSO.

The three-day gathering of lotteries’ managing directors and executives was a call to envision the future digital opportunities within the lottery sector.

The first presentation was held by Francesco Rodano and Robin Bowler from Playtech, the world’s largest supplier of online gaming and sports betting software. They held a presentation on digital opportunities in a player's world. It focused on the importance of innovation in responsibly enhancing player experience.

Over the three days there have been more engaging and thought-provoking presentations from the representatives of International Game Technology, Novomatic Lottery Solutions, Intralot, Scientific Games International and Kambi.

Having been listening to the presentation of the event, Carlos Cardoso was reassured about the great potential that lotteries have in promoting integrity in grassroots sport and innovation:

„The relationship between grassroots sports and lotteries is symbiotic - we need each other in order to thrive and to protect sport against corruption. I am extremely pleased to see that since its establishment, the partnership between ENGSO and EL is growing stronger at all levels. We are committed to expanding the scope of our partnership also on the grassroots level, and hope to see more collaboration also between the ENGSO members and lotteries at the national level in the near future. It was my pleasure to attend the General Assembly and observe the technological evolution of the lotteries industry - we may say that the future is already here. I am convinced that this future-oriented approach will result to ever stronger, more credible lotteries that defend the rights of the customers.”
