On the 18th of August, our Secretary General, Stefan Bergh received the FISU Emeritus Honorary Member award in conjunction with the FISU (International University Sports Federation) General Assembly in Taipei, Taiwan, Province of China.
Mr. Bergh has been involved in FISU for 20 years from 1995 to 2015 and fulfilled the positions of FISU Assessor for eight years and Vice-President for three mandates. His input and advices, most specifically in the fields of development and strategic review, contributed to establishing the basis of the present FISU, and its relations with its national and continental members. He emphasised the need for a close dialogue with the membership and of the student involvement in the organisation.
After receiving the award, Stefan Bergh shared his thoughts on it with us:
“I have been involved in the university sports movement for more than 30 years and it has been an important part of my life. The FISU Emeritus Honorary Member award is a great honour and I am happy to continue to have the opportunity to follow the future developments of FISU and its activities.”
At ENGSO, we congratulate Stefan on receiving this award and wish him great professional successes in the future.
