First Cluster Meeting in the field of Sport brought together all Erasmus+ Sport Projects on Particip

On the 4th and 5th December, the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency and the Directorate General for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport of the European Commission jointly organised the Erasmus+ Sport Cluster Meeting on “Encouraging participation in Sport and Physical Activities” in Brussels.

The meeting brought together all projects on the topic of participation and physical activity that were selected under the Collaborative Partnerships of the Erasmus+ Sport Programme from 2014 to 2016.

The event was a good opportunity to meet other project-implementers, exchange thoughts on best practices and to seek possible synergies across the Programme. The meeting was also a great platform to identify policy-relevant outcomes, and their potential use after the projects lifetime.

At the beginning of the event, a plenary session on policy was held where panelists discussed the Tartu Call for a Healthy Lifestyle, the European Week of Sport and the EU Council Recommendations on Health-Enhancing Physical Activity (HEPA).

Later, the implementers had the opportunity to introduce their projects, and then discuss hot topics – as health, education, sport for all, infrastructure, aging and disability among others – in workshops.

Our Policy Director, Heidi Pekkola took part in the meeting and had a positive impression about the event: “Bringing the Erasmus+ financed projects on the same topic together is a good idea in the new Council Work Plan. This can bring good synergies between the projects and their outcomes can better influence the future policies.
