#EUwomen4future campaign features Birgitta Kervinen

On International Women's Day 2020, the European Commission has launched a women's empowerment campaign, #EUwomen4future. The aim of the campaign is to inspire women and girls across the continent to fulfil their ambitions. One of the featured leader figures in the campaign is our Honorary President, Birgitta Kervinen.

"The #EUwomen4future campaign will feature extraordinary women active in research, innovation, education, culture and sport. It will put the spotlight on some of the great achievements that will help shape tomorrow’s Europe" - says Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, in the launch video.

The campaign showcases the work of 16 inspirational women in four categories: science, research and innovation; education & youth; culture and sports. Eight extraordinary women's achievements are celebrated in the science, research and innovation category, while four exemplar women are in the sports category. In each of the other categories, two women's exceptional achievements are showcased.

It is ENGSO's great pleasure that our Honorary President, IOC Women and Sport World Trophy Award winner Birgitta Kervinen is among the four outstanding women in the sports category.

We believe that this campaign is a great initiative and by putting the spotlight on these motivational women, it will encourage the future generations of European women to dream big.
