European Week of Sport - What does the 2017 edition bring?
The EU Sport Forum (8-9 March 2017, St. Jualian's, Malta) has been accompanied by a European Week of Sport 2017 Coordinators’ Meeting, where national coordinating bodies and European partners, among them ENGSO, were informed about the novelties compared to last years. Let us see what this year’s European Week of Sport would bring.
The visual branding, including key messages and focus themes would remain the same, although the focus them “sport clubs and fitness centres” will be separated to have their own key messages.
From now on, the European Week of Sport will be organised every year on the same dates: 23-30 September.
This year, the European Commission will organise two main events: the official opening will take place in Tartu, Estonia on 23 September with a children cycling festival and round table discussion on healthy lifestyle. In addition, the #BeActive Awards Gala will take place on 12 October either in Brussels or Marseille, the European Capital of Sport 2017.
Other events with European dimension will include the European Fitness Day on 27 September and the European School Sport Day on 29 September.
ENGSO is looking forward to great events ahead to get Europeans moving!
