ENGSO Executive Committee held its first meeting after the General Assembly in June

On 15-17 September, ENGSO’s Executive Committee, ENGSO Youth, Equality Within Sport (EWS) Committee and some representatives from the ENGSO EU Advisory Committee met in Stockholm, Sweden. The meeting was held at Bosön, which is the Swedish Sports Confederation’s development centre, where several parts of elite support take place.

On Friday, 15 September, the Executive Committee had its first meeting after the General Assembly that was held in June in Paris. There were many items on the agenda, but above all, the meeting was focusing on future working methods, the internal work plan and the cooperation between ENGSO's different committees. But the most important discussion was about the forms and structure of cooperation with our members.

Saturday, 16 September was devoted to a joint ENGSO Strategic workday bringing together all ENGSO bodies: Executive Committee, ENGSO Youth, EWS and EU Advisory Committee. We worked together with the three priority areas of ENGSO:

1. Actively advocate and influence the sports political agenda

2. Be an attractive network for exchange of knowledge and experience

3. Upgrade and consolidate the internal organisation of ENGSO

Most of the discussions were about the first and the second area and a lot of new ideas emerged. The main focus was put on the benefits of an ENGSO membership and also on the communication work. We will now elaborate all these ideas and some of them will then be put into our work plan for 2018 and beyond. Both our honorary presidents, Bengt Sevelius and Birgitta Kervinen participated in the work as well, which was very much appreciated.

The ENGSO Strategic workday was symbolised by a great dedication, high energy and a fantastic cooperation! This joint work was really positive and something to be repeated again in the future.

To accomplish the successful weekend, ENGSO Youth Committee and EWS held their own meetings on Sunday.
