23.03.2012
On 22 and 23 March 2012, the final conference of the “Creating a Level Playing Field” initiative has taken place in Helsinki.
More than 40 participants both from partner organizations as well as decision-makers, e.g. the ENGSO President Birgitta Kervinen, have attended the meeting. European Commission was represented by Bart Ooijen from the Sport Unit. The conference presented the findings of the project and focused on concrete recommendations to decision-makers in order to encourage social inclusion of migrants and ethnic minorities in sports.
A panel discussion with representatives from European, national, regional and local level rounded up the discussions. A booklet illustrating good practice examples and key elements will be disseminated among partner organizations and their networks.
Project is granted by the European Commission from the preparatory actions in the field of sport 2010 under the theme social inclusion in and through sport. ENGSO is a lead partner and have been implementing the project together with 11 partners.
